Hadith: Renounce the world and Allah will love you

 

 

Sahl ibn Sa’ad Al-Sa’di reported: A man came to the Prophet and said, “O Messenger of Allah, tell me about a deed I can do which will make Allah and the people love me.” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Renounce the world and Allah will love you, and renounce what people possess and the people will love you.”

عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ قَالَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ دُلَّنِي عَلَى عَمَلٍ إِذَا أَنَا عَمِلْتُهُ أَحَبَّنِي اللَّهُ وَأَحَبَّنِي النَّاسُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ازْهَدْ فِي الدُّنْيَا يُحِبَّكَ اللَّهُ وَازْهَدْ فِيمَا فِي أَيْدِي النَّاسِ يُحِبُّوكَ
