Hadith: The performance of Umrah during Ramadan is equal to Hajj

Ibn `Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, "(The performance of) `Umrah during Ramadan is equal to Hajj (pilgrimage).'' Or said, "Equal to the performance of Hajj with me.''
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary:

"Equal to the performance of Hajj'' means the return and reward to which Hajj is eligible. It does not mean that it will serve as a substitute for Hajj and absolve one from the need to perform it. This distinction of `Umrah in the month of Ramadan is perhaps for the reason, that in this way two acts of worship are combined at one time. ]

Ajaral Aswad (Black Stone)

It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu alayhi wassallam) said; "When the Black Stone (Ajaral Aswad) came down from Paradise, it was whiter than milk, but the sins of the sons of Adam (alayhis salam) made it black."
(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 877, Ahmad, 2792. Classified as Saheeh by Ibn Khuzaymah, 4/219. Al-Haafiz ibn Hajar Classified it as Qawiy (Strong) in Fath al-Baari, 3/462)

It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said; The Messnger of Allah (sallAllahu alayhi wassallam) said concerning the Black Stone (Ajaral Aswad); "By Allah, Allah will bring it forth on the Day of Resurrection, and it will have two eyes with which it will see and a tongue with which it will speak, and it will testify in favour of those who touched it in sincerity."
(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 961; Ibn Majah, 2944)
