Hadith : When some one Sneez

Narrated Abu Huraira R.A: The Prophet ﷺ said, " If anyone of you sneezes, he should say 'Al-Hamdulillah' (Praise be to Allah), and his (Muslim) brother or companion should say to him, 'Yar-hamuka-l-lah' (May Allah bestow his Mercy on you). When the latter says 'Yar-hamuka-llah", the former should say, 'Yahdikumul-lah wa Yuslih balakum' (May Allah give you guidance and improve your condition)."

Reply to the Adhan

Abu Hurairah Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates:

We were with The Prophet (Sallallähu alaihi wa sallam) and Bilal called the Adhan.
When he finished, The Prophet (Sallallähu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Whoever says the same with complete belief and conviction, will enter into Paradise.” (M'ustadrak Hakim)

Note: From this narration, it appears that in reply to the Adhan, one should repeat the exact words of the Muadhdhin. However, a narration of 'Umar Radiyallahu 'anhu clarifies that in reply to Hayya-'Alas-Salat, Hayya-'Alal-Falah one should say La haula wala quwwata illa billah (I have no strength to do good or protect myself from evil, except by the power of Allah). (Muslim)

SUNNAHS OF EATING

1. To wash both the hands before and after meals. (Sunan Abi Dawud Hadtith3755)

2. To sit on the floor. (Sahih Bukhari Hadith5386)
...

3. To sit in one of the following three postures;

a) In the Tashahhud position (like in Salaat) (Fathul Baari Hadith5399),
b) Same as above with the right knee raised, (Ibid; Takhrijul Ihyaa Hadith1304) and
c) In the squatting posture (Sahih Muslim Hadith5299).

4. To eat with the fingers (thumb, index and middle fingers). (Sahih Muslim Hadith5265 and Majmauz-zawaaid)

5. To take the name of Allah before eating. (Sahih Bukhari Hadith5376)

In the name of Allah and with the blessings of Allah I begin (eating)".

On forgetting to recite Bismillah at the beginning, recite:

"In the name of Allah in the beginning and end".

By not reciting Bismillah, Satan has an opportunity of partake in the food.

(Mishkat)

6. To eat with the right hand. (Sahih Bukhari Hadith5376)

Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “If one of you eats, he should eat with his right hand. And if he drinks something, he should drink with his right hand. For indeed, Satan eats and drinks with his left hand.” [Sahîh Muslim (2020)]

7. To eat from the closest part of the plate and not from the middle. (Sahih Bukhari Hadith5376)

8. As far as possible, to eat collectively from one plate. (Ibn Kathir Surah24 Aayat61; Sunan ibn Majah Hadith3287)

9. To clean every bit of food left on the plate and to lick the fingers before washing them. (Sahih Muslim Hadith5268)

Jabir reported that the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) commanded people to lick their fingers and the plate, saying, ‘You do not know where the blessing lies.’” [Muslim]

In one variant of it, “When one of you drops a morsel of food, he should pick it up, remove any dirt on it and then eat it, not leaving it for Shaytan. He should not wipe his hand with a cloth until he has licked his fingers. He does not know in which part of his food the blessing lies.”

In one variant of it, “Shaytan is present with each one of you in every thing you do, he is even present with you when you eat. So when you drop a morsel of food, you should remove any dirt on it and eat it and not leave it for Shaytan.”

10. Eating with three fingers

Ka’b bin Malik (radi Allahu anhu) reported: “I saw the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) licking his three fingers after eating.” [Sahih Muslim, #5296]

Thus, the best way of eating is that shown by the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) which was eating with his three fingers.

11. To recite the various Masnoon du’aas after meals. including:

"O Allah, You grant us blessings in it and grant us better than it".

(Tirmidhi)

OR

"All Praise belongs to Allah who granted this meal, (which I received) without my power or effort".

All previous sins are forgiven if this dua is recited after meals.

(Mishkat, Kitabul-li-baas)

Note:
Please share it because spreading a Good or Islamic Knowledge is Sadqa (charity) Any good deed that a Muslim starts during his life time, and that is of renewed benefit and ongoing use for the Muslims, will continue to benefit him and augment his record of good deeds, even after his departure - as long as its benefits continue to reach others.

Allah, the Most High, says:

" Surely We will give new life to the dead, and We are recording whatever (deeds) they send before them and whatever effects they leave behind. Every thing is fully computed by Us in a manifest book of record." [ Al Quran 36:12]

Abu Hurayrah, rahimahullah, reported that Allah's Messenger, Sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said, "When a human being dies, all of his deeds are terminated except for three types: an ongoing sadaqah, a knowledge (of Islam) from which others benefit, and a righteous child who makes du'a for him." [Muslim and others]

AlQuran: whoever earns evil and his sin has encompassed him

Yes, whoever earns evil and his sin has encompassed him - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally. And those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah) and do righteous good deeds, they are dwellers of Paradise, they will dwell therein forever.

Hadith: When Allah intends good for His slave

Hazrat Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "When Allah intends good for His slave, He punishes him in this world, but when He intends an evil for His slave, He does not hasten to take him to task but calls him to account on the Day of Resurrection.''
[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2396].
Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Hajj Ayat 14."Allah will admit those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds " This Hadith shows that, for a Muslim, trials are also a blessing in this world because his sins are forgiven in proportion to the trials he has to face and his reward is increased with the Will of Allah. Thus, a Muslim should always be patient and contented in the event of trial because without these qualities he will not have the privilege associated with them. In fact, his impatience would increase his sins even further.

Hadith: Be prompt in doing good deeds

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Be prompt in doing good deeds (before you are overtaken) by turbulence which would be like a part of the dark night. A man would be a believer in the morning and turn to disbelief in the evening, or he would be a believer in the evening and turn disbeliever in the morning, and would sell his Faith for worldly goods.''
[Muslim Book 01,Chapter 51, Hadith # 213]

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Muminun Ayat 44."So away with a people who believe not." This Hadith tells that the Day of Resurrection will be preceded by a long chain of calamities. Because of the rush of these calamities, religion and Faith will loose their value in people. There will be a race for wealth, so much so that people would not hesitate to compromise their religion and Faith to acquire wealth. People will rapidly change their faces. This is what actually happening. In this situation true believers are exhorted to adhere strictly to Faith and perform noble deeds without delay.

Rights of Your Parents in Islam

Abdullah ibn Umar, a leading scholar among the Prophet Muhammad sallAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam companions once saw a man from Yemen carrying his mother on his back and going around the Kaaba in his tawaaf.  Rather than show any sign of complaint, the man was happy, repeating a line of poetry in which he likened himself to a camel his mother was mounting.

The only difference is that a camel may be scared by something and go out of control.  He would never go out of her control.  He looked at Abdullah ibn Umar and asked him whether by so doing he discharged his debt to his mother.  Ibn Umar said: “No. You have not even paid back one twinge of her labor pain when she gave birth to you, but you have done good, and Allah will reward you.”
That was not an exaggeration by Ibn Umar.

The parents are entitled by right to kind and dutiful treatment from their children.  Since this is an important duty which Allah has taken care to emphasize so strongly, it is essential for every human being to know what constitutes kind treatment of parents.  It is no exaggeration to say that for a believer, to be a dutiful son or daughter is to take the way which surely leads to heaven.

We note first that Islam uses the Arabic word birr in connection with children’s attitude towards their parents.  The term connotes kindness, compassion, benevolence and almost every aspect of good and generous treatment of others.  One of Allah’s own attributes is derived from this root.  Allah is the “Barr,” which means that His kindness, compassion, grace and generosity never fail.  Scholars say that this term includes everything which is good.
Muslim scholars divide ‘birr’ into two main branches; financial and non-financial.

In respect of son/parent relationship, if either or both parents are poor, a son must support them according to his means.  This is not a matter of choice.  Islam makes it a duty on the son to look after his parents, providing them with the same standard of living as he provides for his own children. If he is well off, to go beyond the mere provision of what is necessary for a decent living so as to allow his parents to share in the comforts and luxuries which he can afford is to make an investment for the hereafter.  Nothing goes amiss with Allah.  He is so pleased with any son and daughter who please their parents.

Looking for Allah’s reward, some people make their parents feel that whatever they own is theirs as  well.  They can use it in the way they please.  Although some people are careless how they spend their money, most parents are more careful when it comes to spending their children’s money than spending their own.  So, to make one’s parents feel that they do not live on their son’s charity is to give them that little extra which makes the difference between feeling oneself to be a burden and feeling perfectly at home.

The more a parent feels happy and contented with his child, the more Allah is pleased with that child.  Moreover, a parent pays his child back immediately.  This takes the form of praying Allah for him.  Such a prayer by parents for their children, which for Muslims, normally takes the form of “May Allah be pleased with you,”  is certain to be answered.

When Allah is pleased with someone,  He helps him or her overcome their difficulties, eases their hardships and guides them to success in life.

The duty required of children with respect to financial support of their parents is to provide them with what is reasonable according to their means.  A son of moderate means cannot be expected to provide his parents with the same standard of living as a much wealthier son.  Although we speak of this as kind treatment by children, it is indeed a repayment of a debt.  Parents look after their children when they are young and helpless.

They provide them with all they need according to their means: Moreover, they do it willingly.  A child takes what he or she is given unaware of how much effort his father puts in order to earn his money.  When the child grows up and his parents are in need of his support, that support must come naturally, without letting the parents feel themselves to be a burden on their children.

Apart from financial support, a child must respect and honour his parents and extend to them the sort of treatment which befits their position as parents.  In any social occasion, and even when they go out together on the street, a son must not precede his father or take a higher or more favourable position than his.  He should always allow him to take precedence.  In Muslim society, that sort of treatment always earns the child more respect.  Muslim society looks down on anyone who does not extend to his parents the standard of honourable treatment expected from children.

Moreover, a child is expected to do as his parents tell him.  From the Islamic point of view, this does not apply only when a child is young.  As long as a son or a daughter is able to grant the wishes of their parents, and by doing so they neither incur any sin, nor jeopardize any greater interest, then they should do so as if these wishes of their parents were commands.  There is nothing excessive in this.

It does not impose a great, heavy burden.  Normally, a parent is easy to please.  Even when parents ask for something which is difficult to obtain, a child can manoeuvre his way to please his parents without undertaking any great difficulty.  Some parents may be unreasonable in their demands, especially when they live with their son in his home.  Relations between his wife and his mother may be occasionally strained.  A mother may feel that her daughter-in-law takes her son away from her.  That may lead to friction between the two.   A wise son tries his best to reconcile his mother’s rights with those of his wife.  He must not be unfair to either.  Should his mother ask him to divorce his wife, he must not do so if his wife fulfils her duties toward him and his mother.  All that a daughter-in-law is required to do towards her mother-in-law is to look after her in a reasonable manner.
Even in such kind treatment, a child is only paying back a debt to his parents.  No matter how great a burden he bears, he does not pay them back adequately. It is very rare that a parent is so ill and handicapped that he or she need to be looked after in the same way as a baby is looked after by his parents.

The Prophet (Pbuh) defines the only way through which a child repays his parents fully.  He says, as related by Al-Bukahri in his book Al-Adab Al-Mufrad and by Muslim and others on the authority of Abu Hurairah: “No child repays his parent fully unless he finds him a slave, then he buys him and sets him free.”
